Summary
The first part of the book contains contributions dealing with a wide variety of philosophical issues relating to the nature of tax systems, and its relation to questions regarding the theory of property, distributive justice, and individual rights. The chapters also examine the relationship between the analysis of taxation in political philosophy and political science and economics. The second part of the book investigates specific questions regarding different kinds of taxes, in particular, the operation of the tax system. The chapters in this part address in particular philosophical issues relating to benefits taxation, inheritance tax, land tax and the phenomenon of international tax competition
