- This study examines the effects of the introduction of state-VAT to replace the existing sales tax in the states. For an in-depth analysis it takes a case study of Rajasthan and recommends measures needed to improve governance from the point of view of the tax departments of all the states, as well as from the taxpayers point of view. The study also recommends measures needed to improve the VAT structure both in the short and the medium term
