Summary
The sharp v-shaped rebound in the April-June quarter 2009 took most forecasters by surprise: the general expectation was a slow revival in the Asia Pacific region until the recovery in the developed world gained strength. Barring a few exceptions, most countries in the Asia Pacific region are dependent on exports for growth, including the third largest economy in the world, China. As growth rates plummeted in the region due to the global recession, it laid rest to the notion of de-coupling, proving that the world economy remains integrated due to trade and capital flows
