Summary
This article analyses the legal and tax considerations involved in the transfer of professional soccer players in Argentina and from this country to a foreign one. These transactions have acquired considerable relevance from the economic standpoint and on many occassions have become complex taking into account the number of parties involved: the player himself, the clubs, soccer federations (in the case the transaction involves more than one country), agents or representatives (both to the player and to the club or clubs involved), businessmen and investors that in turn hold rights of a federative and economic nature. Further this article refers to these rights and the controversial interpretation that has been afforded to them by court precedents, fiscal authorities' rules and opinions since they constitute the core of the transfer
